Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos met for more than an hour in New York on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly meetings.
The two foreign ministers agreed that negotiations over a solution for the island should restart as soon as possible, and that the process would be helped if Greek and Turkish Cypriot representatives visited both Turkey and Greece respectively in an attempt to find a political solution on the island.
They also discussed regional issues at the New York meeting, including the crisis in Syria.
Meanwhile, the increasing of mutual trade and investments and the developing of cooperation in the fight against terror were other issues on the agenda.
