Chairman of the casino operator’s union Ahmet Arkin says that there will be an increase in competition when the South begins operating its casinos, after gaming laws were changed.
He said that according to the casino’s regulations in the North, TRNC citizens are prohibited entrance. Arkin wondered how the government will prevent TRNC citizens visiting the casinos which are to be established in the South
Arkin stressed the need for the government to amend the casino law in the North, in order to become competitive with South Cyprus in the future. He also pointed out that the annual contribution by the casinos to the country’s economy is 600 million dollars.
