PM Sibel Siber has promised transparency and honesty in dealing with the public.
A major step in implementing this policy was carried out by the Ministry of Finance yesterday.
The official website of the ministry has been completely revamped and includes English translation:
The website includes a mission statement and a detailed progress report on how this is being achieved.
In addition, a summary of daily topics addressed by the Finance Minister Zeren Mungan and his management will be posted. This information will also include any visits and topics discussed.
Finally there is now a dedicated phone line (Alo 124) for the public to call to obtain information on any aspect of the dealings of the ministry. A response is promised within two business days.
Update: We incorrectly reported that an English translation was available. As a number of readers pointed out, this is not the case.
