A press release issued by the British bases in Cyprus have warned residents that:
“A routine military exercise to conduct essential operational military training will be carried out in Dhekelia on the 16th July 2015 between the hours of 0800-1300.”
It added that “the training will include the movement of troops, blue light emergency response vehicles and a helicopter and there may be some disturbance during these times.”
Bases authorities said that the public “should not be concerned if explosions are heard in the local area. This occasionally happens when certain atmospheric conditions prevail.”
