Large posters advertising holidays in the TRNC have been put on display at Stansted and Gatwick airports .
This new advertising campaign has aroused the fury of South Cyprus’ Ministry of Transport and Foreign Ministry.
Passengers flying to Cyprus are already switching to Ercan airport because they are being offered higher quality and cheaper flights.
This change over is seriously affecting Larnaca and Paphos airports where passenger numbers have been trending down this year.
Last week, the Greek Cypriot government wrote to Glasgow airport demanding that they remove all references to Ercan airport from their advertising and website.
