President Eroglu will begin discussions with the major political parties this week; speaking to them in the order of the number of MP’s in each party. At the end of those meetings he will task one of the party leaders with the responsibility of forming a new government.
Mr Eroglu confirmed that he had spoken to the party heads by telephone yesterday.
The constitution states that whoever is nominated to form a government has 15 days to do so. If he fails in this task then the responsibility will be given to someone else.
The 50 member parliament has CTP 21, UBP 14.DP 12 and TDP 3 members.
In the meanwhile, the interim government, led by Sibel Siber will continue until a new government is formed.
