UN Secretary-General’s Special Advisor on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide will hold separate meetings with President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci today.
The meetings were confirmed by UNFICYP spokesperson Aleem Siddique the meetings between Eide and the two leaders to reassess the current negotiations and to agree on the next steps..
Earlier on, Anastasiades had said, in statements made after meeting with Akinci, that Eide had undertaken to hold separate talks with the two sides to ascertain the prospects for a meaningful and creative meeting that would lead to the desired result.
