The details of a letter sent to the UN Secretary General by the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasides in which he had complained about the Turkish Cypriot side have been leaked to the press.
In a four page letter, Anastasiades blamed the Turkish Cypriot side for falsifying the essence of a viable federation and Turkey for causing provocation by issuing a new NAVTEX.
Anastasiades’ letter was also accompanied by a dossier by the UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide outlining the 103 issues the UN needs to implement in the event of a solution.
The letter comprises of a short summary of what has been achieved in the talks so far but also outlines what Anastasiades claims as being the Turkish Cypriot side’s withdrawal on a number of points after the ‘Conference On Cyprus’ in Geneva.
