Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is meeting with President Mustafa Akinci today. Following which delegations from the TRNC negotiation team and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will meet.
After the lunch being held for FM Cavusoglu, a meeting will be held to evaluate the negotiations with the participation of the political party leaders.
The Cyprus talks ended abruptly last Thursday, over the offence caused by the south Cyprus parliament’s vote to introduce a commemoration of ‘Enosis Day’ to secondary schools. Greek Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades finally conceded that it was a wrong move, in the light of the ongoing Cyprus talks, but said he could not revoke the ruling.
Later on, Cavusoglu and President Akinci will hold a joint press conference.
