President Akinci and President Anastasiades met again on Thursday to discuss details related to the effective participation of the constituent states in a reunited federal Cyprus, as President Anastasiades told the Press in Nicosia after the meeting.
In addition, possible changes to the Constitution in the future and other aspects of governance were also discussed.
“On some of the issues discussed progress was recorded, but differences do remain on some others,” Anastasiades added.
Asked if the ongoing negotiations were productive enough, he said that they were, but noted that there do remain outstanding differences. These will not be resolved unless there is sufficient understanding of both points of view, Anastasiades said.
The two community leaders are meeting again on Friday.
