Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Serdar Denktaş visited Ankara for a series of meetings. He met with Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister, Responsible for Cyprus Affairs, Tuğrul Türkeş.
Türkeş said he was pleased to be having this meeting, adding that because of the recent incidents that took place in Turkey he was unable to visit the TRNC as often as he would have liked.
Denktaş said that the aim of the visit was to exchange views on the intensified Cyprus negotiations and generally about the latest developments in the region.
The Deputy PM and his accompanying delegation also met with the Turkish Finance Minister Naci Ağbal (left in photo).
Ağbal stated, inter alia, that the common projects that the two ministries will cooperate on, will contribute to the development of the two countries and, in particular, to the development of public finance.
Denktaş said that during the last four months and after his government assumed its duties, a lot of ground had been covered in the field of economy and this was thanks to the Turkish Finance Minister’s positive approach.
