Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Kibris’ reports that the primary school teachers’ trade union (KTOS) protested against the practice of providing religious lessons, particularly Quran lessons to young children, stressing that this practice is against their laws and their principles of secular education.
The paper reports that although some trades unions and NGOs have objections to this practice, the Quran lessons continue.
