Mayor of North Nicosia Mehmet Harmanci, announced the price of supplying water from Turkey to the local municipality. The prices were set by the council on Tuesday evening.
He posted the following water tariff on his Facebook account:
0-6 tons of water 4.9TL
7-17 tons 6.2TL
14 tons or over 7TL
Locals are said to have complained that the cost of water is too high. Turkey is selling the water to municipalities at 2.3TL per ton.
