Following a report on a Council of Ministers’ decision to cancel a permit granted by the last government to a company, allowing it to use state beach front land, further details of the story are as follows:
Oguzhan Hasipoglu is the son of Ertugrul Hasipoglu, the ex-Minister for Health.
He set up a new company (Nephew Tourism) in May and in June his new company was allowed to take over 25 donums of beachfront government land.
Contrary to law, the new company had not prepared a project outlining how it intended to use the land. Nor did it show what investments it would make to develop the property.
Given that it did not meet any of the criteria required, the lease granted by the last government was cancelled by PM Sibel Siber.
