A frightening murder attempt took place in the quiet neighbourhood of Yediler in Nicosia last night.
Dudu Sener, a young girl of 19 was slashed across her throat by her 25 year old cousin Kadir Sener.
The young woman had moved in with her first cousin Kadir and they were engaged.
She was working as a cleaner at Nicosia state hospital.
According to neighbours, Kadir attempted to escape to South Cyprus after the attack but was tracked down by relatives and handed over to the police.
