A film set is being constructed in Yeni Iskele to reproduce an area that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lived in as a boy.
The new film called ‘Reis’ (Leader) documenting the president’s life is being made by Turkish film director Ali Avci.
The film set will be made to look like the Kasimpasa district of Istanbul, where Erdogan spent his life in the 1950’s.
Filming will begin on 22nd January. Avci said that the Cyprus climate is ideal for filming and that making the movie there would increase tourism in the area.
