President Erdogan will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Alakopru Dam in Anamur, Turkey on Saturday 17th October, Turkey’s Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Veysel Eroglu has announced.
Later on in the day, he will fly by private helicopter to the TRNC and go directly to the Gecitkoy Dam (main picture) to attend an inauguration ceremony there with President Akinci and other officials.
The Turkish president will return to the mainland in the evening.
Turkey’s water project for the TRNC will transfer 75 million cubic meters of water per annum, by under-sea pipeline to the island.
