Newly appointed Prime Minister Omer Kalyoncu, made statements about the new coalition government’s position on the Cyprus problem. The new government was established after a coalition was formed between the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and the National Unity Party (UBP).
Kalyoncu (L) stated that in the new coalition’s signed agreement it is clearly stated that it supports the negotiations for the solution of the Cyprus problem. He said that things are going on well, no problem has occurred so far and that former foreign minister Ozdil Nami is now at the side of President Akinci as negotiator.
Kalyoncu also asked for the members of the two parties to have a positive outlook for the coalition government and added that he asks for everyone’s support in order to prepare society for a better future.
