Following extensive restoration work, the Othello Tower and Citadel in Famagusta reopens today.
Work on the structure has been carried out by the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, the European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme Partnership for the Future (UNDP-PFF).
The opening will be marked by speeches from representatives of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, European Commission and UNDP and followed by a theatre performance of the “Othello” by William Shakespeare by a young bi-communal performing group.
A permanent exhibition on the structural stabilisation works carried out at the Citadel will also be inaugurated at the ceremony.
