President Mustafa Akinci will meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the 4th June.
Akinci will leave for New York on the 2nd June and is expected to return on 7th June.
According to reports, the Secretary-General spoke to both leaders on Thursday after their meeting.
The United Nations have openly praised the steps taken by the two leaders, especially their joint request to anyone who may have information on missing persons to step forward without hesitation.
“It will be the first time that Akinci will be meeting with the Secretary-General in a private meeting”, the report said.
