UNSG Special Advisor Espen Barth Eide has said that both presidents would be meeting again on 28th May. Speaking to the press after the first meeting in the resumed Cyprus negotiations, he announced that they had agreed to meet at least twice a month but the negotiators would be meeting more often.
Eide said that the negotiators would continue discussions this afternoon.
The leaders pledged to work on the Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) and at the meeting, President Anastasiades handed over maps to land-mines which were laid in the Besparmak Mountain area; Akinci announced that no more visas would be required at border crossings.
The two presidents will meet each other at a social gathering on 23rd May, but no further information was given about it. Meanwhile, both leaders would be giving the negotiators instructions to work on the CBMs.
Both leaders had renewed their commitment to work together, Eide concluded.
