The Cyprus talks should resume in the second week of May, Turkish Cypriot Foreign Minister Özdil Nami has said.
Speaking in an interview with Anadolu Agency New Agency, the Turkish Cypriot FM said “most probably the first meeting will be about the structure of the talks and the rest of the meetings will definitely be on the content”.
Nami said that he agreed with President Anastasiades’ and UN Envoy Eide’s statements that the talks should resume at the point where they were left off.
“The topics that were not discussed are known, therefore I am expecting a work plan to be shaped that will provide a structure for the talks within that framework, by giving priority to the issues that are not have been discussed yet. As a result of this process an international conference will convene. For this to happen I hope the Greek Cypriot side shows the required political will for these to happen” said Nami.
