President Dervis Eroglu, has invited the Turkish Football Federation’ s president Yıldırım Demirören (above) to a meeting in the TRNC today.
Asked what the purpose of the meeting was, the Turkish Cypriot Football Federation president Hasan Sertoglu said he that he did not know why Demirören had been invited. He added however, that he himself would be attending the meeting at the Presidential palace at noon today.
Sertoglu said he had given 45 days’ notice for the issues regarding Turkish Cypriot footballers in the Turkish league to be resolved and this matter had been widely discussed. He had even said that he was willing to be labelled as a traitor.
According to reports, Deputy PM and Minister for Sports, Serdar Denktas will also be attending the meeting.
