Following Thursday’s high-jacking of a security vehicle containing 3 million TL belonging to the Kooperatif Merkez Bankasi on the Guzelyurt – Nicosia highway, the security vehicle and a Ford Escort were found abandoned near the Bostanci/Zodia border crossing, ‘Gundem Kibris’ reports.
It appears that the highjackers had attempted to set fire to the car. The driver of the security vehicle and his escort were forced to leave the vehicle at gunpoint by two masked men.
The police are continuing their investigation and are searching for the robbers and the cash.
