The excavation and placing of water pipes began on Saturday in North Nicosia in order to transport water from the Turkish water supply project.
Work was scheduled to begin on Saturday near the Near East University with pipes being laid to the south of Dr Fazil Kucuk Boulevard in the following days, ‘Kibris’ reports.
Nicosia is the first town to benefit from the Turkish water project and not a moment too soon. Yesterday, Nicosia municipality called on residents to be sparing in water usage because of “technical defects” linked to water supplies.
